I know What You Are Going Through.
“So you want you to know a little about me? Well, I am you. I get it! The stresses of relocating to a new city or country, uprooting family, leaving your job, and having to make new friends in a new land can be both exciting and scary. This can be even more challenging when your hopes of a flourishing career become stifled by less than exciting job prospects, and the culture shock of a new place with an unfamiliar job landscape. I’ve been in your shoes and I want to help.
I’ve moved 6 times in 11 years to follow my husband’s career and have went through all of the emotions and challenges adjusting to a new city, trying to find my voice and having to answer the daunting interview question, ‘why did you move?’ Not to mention the feelings of isolation in a place where family and friends aren’t a quick drive away, and those that know you don’t quite understand your struggles. I’ve had to reinvent myself and knock-on hundreds of doors to get that one breakthrough that changed my career. Now I am focused on helping women re-envision the way they view their career outlook.”
Bio
After writing over 1,000 resumes for some of the world’s largest resume writing firms, including Monster.com, for several years, Rashauna saw a need to create resume writing and job search strategy services specific to the needs of professionally-established women who took time from their careers to relocate in support of their spouses’ career. These women were vital contributors to the workforce before leaving their jobs and were passionate about continuing their careers or beginning a new one in their new location. Having experienced her own set of challenges that caused friction in her job search journey, she successfully has gone on to help other women who wanted a fresh start at their careers in their new location. Taking a leap of faith, she created Career Reinvent to assist these professionals in finding their voice and discovering their niche in the work world. Rashauna has present on professional branding, entrepreneurship and federal resume writing at the University of Connecticut, Publicity Club of Chicago, and The City University of New York’s John Jay College of Criminal Justice. She has also held partnerships with the State of Connecticut for resume writing services.
