Jane was referred to us by a partnering company that noticed her struggles with finding sustainable employment after relocating. She relocated 3 times from Seattle to New York and now, Connecticut. She had amassed 15+years’ experience in advertising, PR and most recently, guest services at a top hotel. Now, having 2 young children and a 1 year gap in her work history – not to mention a job loss at the height of a pandemic, Jane was ready to get back out there with a career pivot. She desired to branch out from guest services but had no clear direction on her next move.
PROCESS
Assessment
We moved forward with a 60-minute career assessment, including a list of customized questions determining’ Jane's true passions, strengths, what made her tick, and how she envisioned her life over the next 5 years. From there, we discovered an ideal career. We confirmed this career by doing a mini job search to review what jobs ignited her. We were able to determine her passion for processes, organization, and customer care, leading to an administrative role for a service-focused business.
Career Documents: Cover Letter, Résumé, and LinkedIn Services
After completion of the process, she completed our detailed questionnaire, highlighting all of her educational, professional and related experience such as personal activities and volunteerism. Upon submission of the questionnaire and most recent résumé, we began the editing process, which was approximately 10 business days. In addition, she had the opportunity to regularly communicate with our team during the resume creation process via email and phone (up to 30 minutes).
Final Documents with Next Steps in Career Success Guide
Jane received a custom, keyword-rich cover letter and résumé, along with a personalized LinkedIn profile showcasing her personality and experience in more detail. A few days after reviewing her drafts, we quickly finalized all documents to her complete satisfaction.
